We’ve included a few select photo frames from the Fayetteville Arts Coalition’s Holiday Art Exhibit on December 7, 2013 at the former FAC Gallery in Fayetteville, WV. Guests and artists abound, we were popping tags and passing out cream pies (literally lol) until the rooster crowed or it was time for the kids to go to bed, whatevs.

A stellar evening was had by all thanks to the hard work put in by the FAC staff and the artists. We’re looking forward to working more closely with FAC and other artists in Southern West Virginia in the future.

This time of year the whole world over, folks gather round with friends and loved ones to reflect on the highlights of year that has passed and the abundance of blessings it has brought. It is a time to be thankful for all the wonderful fruits that the universe has provided for us and to remember those who have been less fortunate.

The essence of the season is more than just the giving of physical gifts, it is the sharing of love, helping others and coming together as a community.

One doesn’t always have to buy things to get in the spirit of giving. Sometimes free stuff is the best. Pass along a smile. Hug someone. Buy a stranger a cup of coffee. Random acts of kindness are really contagious.

Regardless of what religious tradition or spiritual path you may follow, we sincerely hope each every one of you have an amazing, and safe, holiday season.

~ Fire & Ice ~
Image and Poem By Brian C. Zickafoose © 2012

Over a valley of crystal in a distant mystic realm,
Shadows cast long and a day grows late.
A brazen beast props atop a lofty, frosty helm,
To gather his thoughts and ponder his fate.

He broods over truths from ages before,
To journey the path that his passions follow.
Fate’s wind fans embers of memories of yore,
And stirs fiery flora to flicker the hollow.

With a nod of the head, he resolves to take flight,
After a lengthy debate with his restive soul.
He knows in his heart he must fly by night,
If he ever hopes to achieve his goal.

His destiny’s quest is to find mysteries unknown,
In the land of legend his adventures begin.
A day will soon come to rest peaceful at home,
Until it’s time to fly high away again.

DMT :: DIVINE MOMENT OF TRANSFIGURATION
Vector Illustration By :: Brian C. Zickafoose © 2011

A new illustration by artist Brian Zickafoose titled – DMT-Divine Moment of Transfiguration, delves into mysteries concerning supernatural agents, inter-dimensional astronauts and altered perceptions. Zickafoose bounds through the aeons to an era when artist and shaman were one and the same, where the collective conscious and the well-being of the tribe were dependent on the distant etheogenic explorations of the medicine man and where special fruits of the forest were selected for their messianic properties and consumed for the prosper of all, in an effort to understand the paradox of the grand illusion we know as reality.[read more=”Read more” less=”Read less”]

DMT depicts the artist, Zickafoose, in shamanic garb and telling tales of altered perception to his infant daughter, Xia Yasmine Zickafoose, as she, the light-bearer, holds a candle high, while the artist etches epic figures from visions into the rock for future epochs to behold.
